Norwegian actress, YouTuber and vegan advocate Cornelia Grimsmo @grimcorn is no stranger to travel. Most recently, she touched down in Budapest to explore the city using Corinthia as her base for a whistle-stop trip. Read her insider tips here…
What brings you to Budapest?
I wanted to visit my brother who studies medicine here, but also to have fun with my friends and do some filming.
Do you usually travel for work or pleasure?
Mostly for work, but it’s always a pleasure getting to know new places.
What’s your favourite thing to do when exploring a new city?
Just wandering around in the streets observing people with no destination in mind and not having a time schedule.
Do you ever have trouble finding vegan options while travelling?
I always find something, but it’s not always very exciting food as I often have to go for the most basic options trying to avoid dairy products. But most cities I’ve been to have come very far in terms of vegan dishes and vegan restaurants.
What was your favourite vegan dish sampled while in Budapest?
I’ve eaten a lot of great food during my stay. I ordered take-away from a Chinese restaurant, lots of noodles, veggies, tofu, rice etc. I was snacking on the left-overs for three days. It was super good. I also very much enjoyed the Mexican food I got at Iguana.
What drew you to Budapest in the first place?
I went on a school trip many years ago and I always remembered Budapest as a beautiful city. Since then I’ve visited twice and I’m planning to come back very soon.
